If one says that a great game is being played in South Asia at the cost of India,one won't be entirely wrong.India is being punished for no fault of its but it seems no one,neither America nor Pakistan or even India seems to have learnt lessons from past mistakes. Terrorism as a state policy to needle India was first adopted by Pakistan in early 90s in last century and was receiving huge know-how and support for its nuclear weapons programme. Although American senate had a specific law not to supply arms or aid to countries involved in nuclear proliferation,America turned a blind eye towards Pakistan.Although India then also made loud noises about state-sponsored terrorism from across the border as well as issue of Pakistan being involved in illicit nuclear proliferation,then American state secretary,Robin Raphael,raised the issue of Kashmir being a disputed territory to pressurise India into silence.Most of the funds and arms that Pakistan got from US were diverted to abett terrorism in Kashmir. This only emboldened Pakistan as it gave itself an option of low cost,high-yield war against India.Fortunately for India,9/11 happened and Americans had no option but to subjugate its Pakistani allies into assisting in its so-called war against selective terror,a terror directed only against itself.For sometime,it seemed Taliban was on run and rogue elements in Pakistani army and intelligence are falling in line but who can keep "a genie in the bottle"for long. A regime change happened in America as Barack Obama took over and Pakistani and Taliban in Afghanistan got time to re-group and formulate a policy to paint India as the bad-boy in the region,accusing it of fueling insurgency in Baluchistan and trying to get a foothold in Afghanistan though India was only providing help in massive re-construction in war-ravaged Afghanistan.Though US and its allies knew this was a falsehood being propagated by Pakistan,they pretended to look the other way as Pakistan has begun its great game of pitting its own home-grown insurgents,the Taliban,China and even some local Indian militant outfits,against India. India has been naively believing that West is on its side,belying history that West is always on its own side only.They just issue occasional condolence messages for blast victims in India,praise its role in re-construction of Afghanistan,laud the leadership of PM Manmohan Singh but these are mere words.The least they could have done was to stop further arm sales to Pakistan,warn it about its continuing association with extremists,ruling out further re-drawing of boundaries in the name of half a decade old issues but they wont do so because it does not suit them at the moment. Only option for India is to realize this great game being played at its cost,stop believing that America or its western allies are going to come to its aid in case of attack by Pakistan or China.This is our own war and we alone have to fight it. Realize that we have the third largest army in the world,our dispora runs the computers and space programmes of countries like US and UK.Look openly for tested friends like Israel and Russia.Every Indian has to make himself count.We just cannot sit back and watch encircling from East from China while thugs from Pakistan advance towards us.We have won freedom at great cost in the past,we cannot allow ourselves to be in denial. If the nation has to give some sacrifices for Mother India,it should not hesitate.Instead of appealing to heartless Pakistani rulers or terrorists,let us fortify our security and not hesitate to talk to the enemy in the only language it understands. God is always on the side of just and courageous,just we are,courageous can we be!
