There are rare times when a sport forgets all things like who won,which side you are supporting,a legend is created for future generations but those moments are far and few in between.On 5th November in Hyderabad,one such legend was born which will be remembered for times to come.
Of course,winning is the most imporatant thing in a game,specially in an international game between two greatest sporting nations in the game of cricket,India and Australia.Even Ricky Ponting and his team will agree that Hyderabad ODI will be remembered for just one thing-Sachin Tendulkar's 175.They were much more briskly scored,with greater artistry and a stronger opposition than Kapil Dev's 175 against Zimbabwe in 1983 world cup.Of course,they were scored in a winning cause and helped India in qualifying for quarter finals and ultimately,winning the world cup but as i said before,there are rare moments in game when one man's magic transgresses all boundaries of winning and losing.
Each and every stroke came from middle of bat as Ponting confessed after the game,timing was perfect,never for a moment did manmoth total of 350 looked impossible though wickets were falling at other end and Tendulkar just played like God on that day.It really saddens me to imagine if cricket will be same again as and when master decides to call it a day.May God give Sachin strength to play many more such innings in future and in winning causes.Ameen.
